Membership Development Objectives 2016/17

To accept the Challenge of the RI Presidential Citation goals.

  • To realise this we have to achieve 2 of the following goals:

  2. Improve the membership retention rate by at least 1 percent from last year or maintain100 percent retention.
  3. Induct new members under the age of 40. Clubs with up to 50 members must induct two new members under the age of 40.
  • To continue the current very successful membership drive by:
  1. Continuing the liaison with the Local Chamber of Commerce.
  2. Considering ways of attracting new members.
  3. Monitoring the views of new members and their mentors.
  4. Liaison with the Marketing and PR Committee to further publicity / media coverage about the Club with a particular focus on promoting membership.
  5. Continuing the possibility of the very successful Twilight open meetings for new members.
  6. Considering the possibility of different social events which might attract new members by liaising with the Social Secretary / Committee to further fellowship opportunities and events to secure retention and promote the social aspect of our Rotary Club.
  • To review the new Twilight meetings and to look at the possibility, if successful of continuing them in the future.

(iv)        To consider the current Club meetings by:

  1. Ensuring that all members are happy with their content
  2. Reviewing the dress code.
  3. To look at ways of modernising the meetings without losing the traditional values.

Fund Raising in and around Exmouth

Our fund raising takes on many different forms. We organise the Exmouth Kite Festival, the Walk and Ride, and  the Last Night of the Proms concert, held at the Exmouth Pavilion.

For more information on the Kite Festival please click here and you will be redirected to the Kite Festival page.

If you would like to learn more about the Walk or Ride and haven’t looked at the web page then simply click here and you’ll be redirected to the Walk or Ride web page.

We also raise additional funds from seven Spiral Wishing Wells which are located at the World of Country Life, Crealy Adventure Park, Ladram Bay Caravan Park and Devon Cliffs Holiday Park, along with our newest well at the Coast Ten Pin Bowling Centre. You might also like to see the Interpretation Well  which is inside the Main entrance of the Ten Pin Bowling Centre.  This was developed in Partnership with the Exe Estuary Management Partnership and the RSPB. Many Rotary clubs in the UK have raised money using the Spiral Wishing Wells and have raised in excess of £70,000 to aid good causes throughout the UK.

Our biggest fund raiser for many years has been the selling of Rotary emblems which has raised over £50,000 over the past 25 years.  We sell these emblems to other Rotary Clubs, as well as at District, National, and International Conventions. For further information please click on the link here.
